Chelsea v Brentford line-ups: Both sides make four changes
Chelsea make four changes from the side that lost to Brighton in their last Premier League game – and again play without a recognised striker.
Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, who also started against Real Madrid in the Champions League last week, are again named in the starting line-up.
Cesar Azpilicueta also comes in, replacing the injured Reece James.
With Kai Havertz out as well, Raheem Sterling is set to lead the attack.
And Marc Cucurella has joined the list of unavailable players – the Blues’ interim boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that the defender is absent from the squad because of an injury.
Lampard, who is also without Mason Mount, said: “We’ve had some issues. We’ve lost Mason and now we’ve lost Cucurella in the short term as well.”
Brentford, who are without the injured Christian Norgaard, also make four changes, with Yoane Wissa, Frank Onyeka, Zanka and Mads Roerslev coming in.
Bees boss Thomas Frank has changed formation, switching to three at the back.
