Chelsea v Arsenal player ratings
Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. Here’s how we rated each Blues player.
Thibaut Courtois: 6
Produced a decent first-half save but was generally untroubled as his team did most of the attacking.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 8

Excellent defensively and got forward regularly. Tried to find Alvaro Morata with his now trademark cross from the right for the striker. He was unable to find him but did find Cesc Fabregas with a first-half delivery the former Arsenal man headed straight at keeper David Ospina.
Andreas Christensen: 7
Another assured display at the back, but the Dane missed two good chances to score. He saw a header saved by Ospina and later headed wide when unchallenged at the far post.
Antonio Rudiger: 7
Solid in defence and wasn’t slow to bring the ball forward. Did well.
Victor Moses: 7

Chelsea’s main attacking threat at times, especially in the first half. He had two efforts saved by Ospina and certainly had the beating of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Danny Drinkwater: 7
A hardworking and composed performance in midfield before being replaced by Willian midway through the second half.
N’Golo Kante: 7

A typically efficient display by the Frenchman, the highlight of which was when he showed superb anticipation to prevent Alexis Sanchez’s ball forward reaching Danny Welbeck during a dangerous Gunners counter-attack in the second half.
Cesc Fabregas: 7
Might have done better with a first-half chance, but was at the centre of most of Chelsea’s best work.
Marcos Alonso: 6

Was always a threat on the left, but missed a decent chance when he failed to connect with a near-post header from Fabregas’ right corner.
Eden Hazard: 6
Always busy, but Arsenal managed to successfully crowd him out before Hazard was substituted late on.
Alvaro Morata: 6

Another fruitless outing in front of goal and Morata appears to be struggling for confidence. He did come to life during a second-half spell in which he had an effort saved after being teed up by Fabregas and then fired into the side netting from a tight angle after good work on the right.
Willian: 6
Lively after coming on. Had a shot saved by Ospina.
