AC Milan are confident of completing a deal to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea as talks between the two clubs continue over a fee for the midfielder.
Milan are keen to reunite the 27-year-old with his former Blues team-mate and fellow academy graduate Fikayo Tomori, who helped them win the Serie A title last season.
They are reluctant to pay the £20m asking price for Loftus-Cheek, whose contract expires next year, but an agreement is expected to be reached.
West London Sport has been told that the seven-time European champions believe Loftus-Cheek can have a similar impact to that of former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa at Napoli.
Anguissa struggled to make an impact in the Premier League but has thrived in the more technical but slower-paced Serie A, helping Napoli to win a first Scudetto title in 33 years this season.
Chelsea are keen of offload players from their bloated squad and enable new boss Mauricio Pochettino to make signings this summer.
