Luiz injury does not look serious

Antonio Conte does not believe an injury David Luiz picked up during Chelsea’s win at Everton is serious.

Luiz was taken off eight minutes from the end of the game at Goodison Park, but Blues boss Conte expects the Brazilian to be available for the game against Middlesbrough a week on Monday.

“I didn’t speak to the doctor about his injury but I don’t think it’s a serious injury. I hope he is available to play in the next game,” Conte said.

“At this part of the season sometimes it’s important to try to play even if your condition is not 100%.”

Luiz has had a terrific season for the Premier League leaders despite having to manage a knee injury he suffered in December.

“David is showing us great commitment this season. Don’t forget he has an injury in his knee after the game against Manchester City,” Conte added.
