Speculation over Moses’ future at Chelsea

The recent newspaper stories involving the area’s clubs…

Manchester United are leading a race to sign Chelsea’s Victor Moses, the Express have declared.

The story is based on bookmakers Ladbrokes installing United as favourites to sign Moses ahead of Crystal Palace – and on reports the Nigeria international could seek a move in January.

Moses played under United’s ex-Blues boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and was sold by Palace in 2010.

It is claimed that both clubs are interested in signing him if Chelsea are willing to let him go when the transfer window reopens.

The Sun had earlier picked up on a story by Goal.com claiming that Moses is ready to leave.

A change of formation has contributed to Moses now having to compete for a place with the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian.

Meanwhile, The Sun say Chelsea are set to land a £9.5m windfall if Real Madrid appoint Antonio Conte as their new boss.

Former Chelsea manager Conte has been tipped to replace the under-fire Julen Lopetegui at the Bernabeu.

Reports suggest Chelsea would be due a payment as part of the pay-off deal agreed when he was sacked by them during the summer.

Chelsea plan to offer Antonio Rudiger an improved contract, the Daily Mail say.

The club announced on Wednesday morning that Marcos Alonso has signed a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

And the Mail say German defender Rudiger, who has more than three years left on his current deal, is set to be offered lucrative new terms.

The newspaper believe talks are planned with Rudiger’s representatives over a contract extension.

The Sun say Genoa’s Poland striker Krzysztof Piatek, who has been linked with Chelsea recently, has been given a £35m price tag.

And the Mail reports that Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is set to sign a new contract.
