N’Golo Kante’s injury problems struck again on Friday evening when he was forced to miss France’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Iceland.
The Chelsea midfielder was due to start the game but picked up an injury during the warm-up and was replaced by Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko.
He is a doubt for the game against Turkey on Tuesday but France boss Didier Deschamps does not believe the problem is overly serious.
“He felt a pain in his adductor muscle,” Deschamps explained.
“He did not feel comfortable to play and I made the decision because maybe it could get worse. I do not think it’s too serious.”
France won the game 1-0 courtesy of a penalty from Kante’s Chelsea team-mate Olivier Giroud.
Kante recently returned to action after a hamstring strain, having previously been troubled by knee and ankle injuries.

I advise those concerned not to overuse Kante to enable him come back to full fitness. In his club, he should be playing fortnightly, and should be excused from international duties for now. It's too early to end his career through injury.
