Pulisic overjoyed after Chelsea hat-trick
Christian Pulisic described his hat-trick for Chelsea as “unreal” after he inspired them to victory over Burnley.
The Blues won 4-2 at Turf Moor, where Pulisic emphatically repaid boss Frank Lampard’s decision to give him a starting place.
“It’s unreal. What a day for me. In the end it was definitely a special day for me,” Pulisic told Sky Sports.
Pulisic endured a difficult start following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund but has been outstanding in recent games.
He made a big impact after coming on as a substitute against Newcastle and Ajax and was superb from the start against a Burnley side who were outclassed before scoring two late consolation goals.
Pulisic said: “The first few months were definitely hard. I had a few starts early in the season and then I fell out of it and I was trying to get any minutes that I could and just make an impact.
“Gladly in the last two weeks I was able to show that again – I was helping the team coming in in the Newcastle game and I think they saw that and gave me a start today.
“I didn’t think it was going to happen right away, being a big success. Coming into a club like this takes time so I’m happy with the progress I’ve made so far and I’m just going to keep going from here.”
