Talbot trip leads to Fulham being linked with Clarke and Kent

Sunday newspaper stories involving the area’s clubs…

The Scottish Sun claim Fulham want Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent and Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke.

The story is based on Whites scout Brian Talbot recently watching Glasgow Rangers play Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

It has led the Scottish Sun to claim that he was there to look at winger Kent, who is on loan with the Gers from Liverpool.

The newspaper also declares that Talbot was “looking at how managerial candidate Clarke does it at Killie” and that the former Chelsea man “is regarded as a live contender” to take over at Craven Cottage, where Scott Parker has been in caretaker charge since the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

Scottish media reports regularly link managers and players north of the border with moves to English clubs.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are the latest club to be linked with Callum Hudson-Odoi.

There continues to be speculation over the future of the Chelsea youngster, who made his England debut in Friday’s 5-0 win against the Czech Republic.

Bayern Munich have been pursuing him and are expected to make another approach in the summer, having had offers rejected in January.

Reports this week claimed Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Hudson-Odoi and could get involved in a bidding war with Bayern.

Then UK newspapers picked up on German publication Bild claiming that Liverpool are interested and are monitoring the situation.

And now the Mail on Sunday have declared that United have entered the running to sign Hudson-Odoi and want to snap him up this summer.

Hudson-Odoi’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires next year and Chelsea want him to sign a new deal.
