Antonio Conte has insisted that Chelsea must not give up hope of catching Manchester City.
Third-placed Chelsea are 11 points behind Premier League leaders City, who have been in brilliant form this season.
But the defending champions have been on a good run themselves, winning five and drawing one of their last six league games.
And Blues boss Conte believes they are capable of challenging for top spot.
“It’s right to believe that we can catch them up,” he said.
“It’s the right mentality because in every game we must have the right desire and will to fight and to try to catch them up, but in this moment it is very difficult.”
“We have to look at ourselves and go game by game.”
Chelsea have the chance to close the gap when they face Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
City are at home to struggling West Ham on Sunday.
