Sunday Express claim Chelsea could target Pochettino

The stories in Sunday’s newspapers involving Chelsea…

Chelsea could look to install Mauricio Pochettino as their manager this summer, the Sunday Express claim.

The Tottenham boss has been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The Sunday Express claim Chelsea could rival those clubs in pursuit of Pochettino, who has four years remaining on his Spurs contract.

It comes amid recent speculation over Maurizio Sarri’s future and the story appears to be based on The Times reporting after Chelsea’s 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth in midweek that owner Roman Abramovich had sent text messages to head coach Sarri asking him to explain the team’s slump.

Meanwhile, there continues to be speculation over the future of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Chelsea youngster, whose contract at Stamford Bridge expires next year, handed in a transfer request prior to the transfer window closing in order to try to force a move to Bayern Munich, who have been pursuing him.

The Sun on Sunday has declared that the German club are planning a £45m bid this summer for Hudson-Odoi – 24 hours after The Sun reported that Bayern will offer £25m.
