Chelsea boss Antonio Conte picked out Victor Moses for special praise after an impressive performance in the 3-0 win over Leicester.
Moses was the star performer as a right wing-back in the victory over Hull City before the international break.
And he was outstanding in a professional team display against last season’s Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge, rounding off his efforts with a fine goal after a slick one-two with Nathaniel Chalobah.
“Victor’s a very good player,” Conte said. “Now he’s playing as a wing-back and it’s fantastic because he pays great attention in defence and can go one against one in attack.
“When I arrived I told the club I wanted to see Victor in pre-season because I knew him very well and I knew about his great potential.”
Marcos Alonso also shone on the left flank. Conte said that was to be expected, but that Moses has shown great versatility to adapt to the new system – a switch which has seen the Blues keep two clean sheets and score five goals in two games.
“Alonso always played this role but Moses is a winger,” Conte added. “His education is fantastic. I’m pleased for him. We have a fantastic player who wants to create situations.
“If someone shows they deserve to play I have no problem. I don’t care about the name.”
