FA hear from Ferdinand in Terry inquiry

QPR’s Anton Ferdinand today gave the Football Association his account of the incident involving Chelsea’s John Terry in the recent west London derby at Loftus Road.

The FA are investigating accusations that Ferdinand was racially abused by the Blues captain. Terry strongly denies doing so and has pledged to prove his innocence.

In a statement released by his club, Ferdinand said: “I have very strong feelings on the matter, but in the interests of fairness and not wishing to prejudice what I am sure will be a very thorough inquiry by the FA, this will be my last comment on the subject until the inquiry is concluded.

“I would like to thank the club, [chairman] Tony Fernandes, [vice-chairman] Amit Bhatia, [manager] Neil Warnock, the supporters and my fellow professionals for their unwavering support.”
