Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo plans to hold talks with Florent Malouda to discuss the Frenchman’s future.
Malouda has joined the Blues squad in Seattle for their visit to the United States but is widely tipped to leave Chelsea before the new league season begins.
The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move to Brazil – where his wife is from – and a number of European clubs have also expressed an interest in him.
“I still haven’t had a chance to speak with Florent,” said Di Matteo.
“I need to speak to him and see what his intentions are. Then we will see what the best interests are for both him and the club.”
Malouda could feature when Chelsea begin their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Seattle Sounders on Wednesday evening.
