Roberto Di Matteo says Chelsea captain John Terry is in the right frame of mind to face QPR on Sunday.
The spotlight will be on the defender given his sending-off in midweek and the furore over allegations he racially abused Rangers’ Anton Ferdinand when the two sides met at Loftus Road in October.
But interim boss Di Matteo has no qualms about selecting Terry, who will be suspended for the Champions League final following his dismissal against Barcelona.
‘I don’t think that’s going to influence him,’ said the Italian.
“John Terry is fine and ready for Sunday’s game like the rest of the team. He has dealt with setbacks in the past. He’ll be very good.”
Terry is the only recognised centre-back at Di Matteo’s disposal as David Luiz and Gary Cahill are injured and Branislav Ivanovic is banned.
