Roberto Di Matteo hailed his players after their 6-1 demolition of QPR in the west London derby.
The Chelsea interim boss had to make changes at the back, with David Luiz and Gary Cahill injured and Branislav Ivanovic suspended, but his team easily saw off a Rangers side that were outclassed from start to finish.
Their Champions League exploits mean the games are coming thick and fast for the Blues as they chase a top-four finish, but they show no signs of wilting.
Di Matteo declared: “After a Champions League game it’s always difficult in the next game, so I am very pleased with the way we played.
“I have to say the team surprised me. I wasn’t expecting that – I was hoping we’d really put a great performance in today.
“Every player in our squad is important and we won with an unusual back four. They did brilliantly to keep QPR at bay.
“It is great for this club that we have all these players full of confidence and belief.”
