Di Matteo hopes Torres has turned corner
Roberto Di Matteo hopes Fernando Torres’ goals against Leicester prove to be a turning point in the striker’s Chelsea career.
Torres’ brace helped the Blues to a 5-2 victory at Stamford Bridge and secured an FA Cup semi-final clash with Bolton or London rivals Tottenham.
It was their fourth win in as many games under interim boss Di Matteo, who was delighted to see Torres end his five-month wait for a goal.
“Hopefully his confidence is now going to be high,” said Di Matteo.
“I think the whole team, the club and supporters are happy for him. He works so hard for the team – he is a great team player.
“You get rewarded when you work hard in life and I think we are all happy that he helped us win.”
