Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo expects Daniel Sturridge to make a swift return from a hamstring problem.
Sturridge sat out Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus but the injury is not serious and the forward could be available for this weekend’s home game against Stoke.
But Oscar is a doubt for the match against the Potters after suffering a knock to his ankle in the second half against Juve. The Brazilian’s condition was due to be assessed on Thursday morning.
“Sturridge felt his hamstring tightening up so he wasn’t available. He won’t be out for long,” Di Matteo explained.
Oscar being sidelined would be a blow for Chelsea and the player, who scored two goals – one of them a world-class strike – on his first start since his summer move to Stamford Bridge.
Di Matteo said: “He got a knock on his ankle and we will have to assess him.
“It was a great debut and it was the right moment for him to start a game as we needed a bit of time to work with him.
“The second goal was a wonderful goal and it is great to see we have a player like that in our ranks. He is a big talent and he has a bit of everything.
“We shouldn’t forget he is still a young man, but he is already established in the Brazil team and that is quite difficult.”

It's high time DM starts Sturrdg or play him and Torres up front and also drop players like Mikel,Lampard and Terry for substitution after we are comfortably winning for them to sustain de goals with their esperinces.RDM plz be bold in ur selections.
Di matteo n abramovish should stop hoping on shadow, b/c torres can never do better, than what he has done n so, torres should be use as substitute in second half in any critical match, chelsea is to played.
And inaddition, di matteo n abramovish should hope on moses, b/c must things torres can not do,like over shadowing n forcing defender out of the way.
Moses should be use in any critical match like stoke in week end match.
