Derby manager Frank Lampard says on-loan Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has much more to offer than just goals.
Mount, 19, scored his second goal in three appearances for the Rams on Tuesday night, adding to Mount’s fellow on-loan Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori’s opener for a 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic in the Carabao Cup.
Lampard, Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer, said: “Mason Mount’s goal was a really clean strike and his game overall was very good.
“He picked up a lot of good positions and, although people think of him as a goalscoring midfielder, his work rate is also very good.
“We are giving these young players a platform to compete in men’s football when they go out on loan, but hopefully everyone benefits from it.”
