Luiz leaves Chelsea for Arsenal in £8m deal
David Luiz has joined Arsenal in an £8m pre-deadline deal.
The Gunners made an approach for Luiz, 32, in the final stages of the transfer window and he made it clear to Chelsea that he wanted to join the north London club.
The Brazilian has signed a two-deal deal and is reunited with Arsenal boss Unai Emery, having previously played under him at Paris St-Germain.
Luiz, who was in his second spell at Chelsea, only signed a new two-year contract in May.
Chelsea were initially reluctant to let him leave because the club are under a Fifa-imposed transfer embargo so were unable to replace him.
But Blues boss Frank Lampard, who is keen to give Kurt Zouma a chance to establish himself in the first team, decided to let Luiz go.
Luiz was sold to PSG in 2014 but made a shock return to Stamford Bridge two years later.
