Costa travels but Mikel misses out

Diego Costa has travelled with the Chelsea squad for their Champions League game against Maribor, but John Mikel Obi will miss out.

Costa made his return from injury in Saturday’s win against QPR, after which boss Jose Mourinho made it clear he expected to include him in the squad for Wednesday’s game.

Mourinho was also hopeful that Mikel would recover from a knee problem in time to be available for the Group G clash.

But the Nigerian midfielder did not train on Tuesday and has been ruled out of the match along with Loic Remy, who remains sidelined with a groin injury.

Ramires, fit again after a muscle problem, could feature in Slovenia, while youngsters Lewis Baker, Nathan Ake and Andreas Christensen are also in the squad.
