Jose Mourinho expects Diego Costa to play in four of Chelsea’s remaining eight matches this season.
Costa was ruled out for at least couple of weeks after aggravating a hamstring problem shortly after coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s win against Stoke.
But Mourinho has dismissed speculation that the striker could miss the rest of the campaign as his team look to clinch the Premier League title.
The Blues boss said: “We have eight matches to play and if he plays in four, that is normal.
“If he plays in three that is a little bit below what I am expecting. If he plays in five that is more than I’m expecting, so I’m expecting four matches.”
Meanwhile, Mourinho has refused to confirm that Chelsea have made a bid for Japan international striker Yoshinori Muto.
The 22-year-old and his club FC Tokyo have said that an offer – reported to be £4m – has been submitted.
