Costa and Matic left out of Chelsea’s tour squad
Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic will not be included Chelsea’s squad for a pre-season tour of the Far East.
The squad will leave for China on Monday and boss Antonio Conte has told Costa and Matic they will not be involved.
It comes amid uncertainty over the futures of both players.
Costa has been told he is not in Conte’s plans for this season.
The striker is thought to be keen to return to his former club Atletico Madrid, even though they are under a transfer ban.
Matic, meanwhile, has been linked with a number of clubs, including Manchester United.
Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected to replace Matic in the Chelsea side this season – the France international is close to finalising a move from Monaco.
Chelsea begin their pre-season campaign against Arsenal in Beijing on 22 July before travelling to Singapore for friendlies against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
