Chelsea’s formation is getting the most out of Pedro, according to manager Antonio Conte.
Pedro was at his busy best in the 3-1 win over Swansea, scoring the vital second goal to put Chelsea back in front and on the way to a 12th successive home victory in all competitions.
It was the former Barcelona man’s 11th goal of the season and Conte said Pedro’s contribution since the Blues started playing 3-4-3 in September was the reason why he has often kept Willian out of the team.
“Pedro is showing his qualities. He is deserving to play,” Conte added. “And and to score goals is fantastic for him. I hope he continues in this way with this commitment.
“He has always had the quality, but now the formation is exploiting his characteristics more than before.
“He is a good player in the same way as Willian, Hazard and Costa. He is playing very well with the ball and without the ball.”
