Antonio Conte has insisted he is not looking to bring veteran Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini to Chelsea.
The former Italy international, 33, is among the host of players who have previously worked under Conte to have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
It has been claimed that Conte has been trying to sign Chiellini and that Chelsea have been dealt a blow by reports he is set to sign a new contract at Juve.
However, asked about reports he wants Chiellini, Blues boss Conte said: “No. I must be honest. Giorgio is a fantastic player but I think he wants to finish his career at Juventus and I think it is right to finish his career in this way.”
Chelsea have been linked with various players in the build up to this month’s transfer window.
“There is a lot of speculation. It is normal when the window starts,” said Conte.
“It is a difficult moment for every coach and every club. There are many speculations and for sure with some speculation there is truth and others only speculation.
“For us in this period we must be very focused on our target, Tomorrow we have a very tough game against Arsenal and we need to find the right concentration.”
