Luiz to be axed for United game, Sun on Sunday say

Antonio Conte is set to axe David Luiz for Chelsea’s game against Manchester United, The Sun on Sunday say.

The newspaper suggest Luiz will not be in the squad for Sunday’s match at Stamford Bridge and will be left out in the wake of the 3-0 defeat against Roma in the Champions League this week.

Blues boss Conte is reported to have deployed Andreas Christensen in a back three in training ahead of the visit of Jose Mourinho’s side.

The Sun on Sunday say there has been tension between Conte and Luiz this week, although Chelsea insist there has been no serious fall-out.

There continues to be speculation over Conte’s future at the Bridge, particularly in light of the loss to Roma.

A number of Sunday’s newspapers again suggest his position is under threat, with AC Milan once again touted as a possible next destination for the Italian.
