Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has backed Diego Costa to end his recent goalless run.
Costa has not scored in his last four league appearances – the striker’s longest run without a goal since joining Chelsea in 2014.
But Conte said: “I’m happy with his performance. In this moment, Diego is not scoring but he’s totally involved in the team.
“He must continue to work in this way with great desire and work-rate and I’m sure he can score in every game.”
Conte has also played down the significance of his team failing to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League since January.
The Blues, seven points clear at the top of the table, have not managed a shut-out since a 2-0 win at home to Hull.
“I prefer to accept the win and not have a clean sheet,” said Conte.
“In this period since Hull City we have not been able to have a clean sheet, but it happens.”
