Conte hails Hazard and Chelsea’s ‘important’ clean sheet
Antonio Conte believes Chelsea’s first home clean sheet for seven months was an important sign of their progress.
The Blues were at their vibrant, attacking best in the 3-0 win over Burnley, with Eden Hazard, Willian and Victor Moses all scoring.
But the result was also notable for the first shut-out at Stamford Bridge since Chelsea beat Scunthorpe in the FA Cup in January and the first in the league since a win over Norwich last November.
“I think the most important thing is, after 13 games that we conceded a goal at home, today we didn’t concede,” Conte said.
“I think this is good news for the players, for me, for Chelsea and the fans.”
At the other end of the pitch, Hazard’s scintillating performance delighted the home fans impressed boss Conte.
Conte said: “Eden is a fantastic player. Like the others, he’s working very well with a great attitude.
“After the first day I saw his will to work very well, to find a good shape. But I can still say that Eden’s performances can improve a lot.
“But I am also pleased with his commitment and his workrate during the training sessions.”
