Chelsea have confirmed Antonio Conte as their new head coach.
The 46-year-old will step down as manager of Italy after Euro 2016, with his three-year deal at Stamford Bridge beginning after the tournament.
Conte told the club’s official website: “I am very excited about the prospect of working at Chelsea Football Club.
“I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that.
“I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and the day-to-day challenge of competing in the Premier League.
“Chelsea and English football are watched wherever you go, the fans are passionate and my ambition is to have more success to follow the victories I enjoyed in Italy.
He is the fifth Italian to manage the Blues after Gianluca Vialli, Claudio Ranieri, Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Di Matteo.
As a player, Conte made more than 400 appearances for Juventus and as a manager led them to three straight Serie A titles.
Conte’s Juve contributed to Chelsea’s Champions League group stage exit in 2012, as reigning champions, when the Blues lost 3-0 in Turin.
He was appointed Italy manager in 2014, qualifying for Euro 2016 with an undefeated record in 10 games. They are in the same group as Belgium, Ireland and Sweden.
