Luiz close to return, says Conte
Antonio Conte says he expects David Luiz to be available for Chelsea’s FA Cup game against Norwich early next month.
The Blues boss said on Friday that he believes Luiz, who has not played for more than a month, is close to recovering from a knee problem.
Conte also appeared to suggest that Luiz could even be available for the Premier League game against Arsenal on 3 January, three days before the cup match.
The same applies to youngster Charlie Musonda, who has also been sidelined.
“About Musonda and David Luiz, I think they are improving a lot,” Conte said.
“Recovery is very close. I don’t know if for the next game (after Saturday’s visit of Stoke) but for sure against Norwich Musonda and Luiz will be available.”
Conte also confirmed that Chelsea have no new injuries ahead of this weekend’s game against Stoke at Stamford Bridge.
