Hazard expected to miss start of season
Eden Hazard is expected to miss the start of next season after suffering a fractured right ankle, Chelsea have confirmed.
The club announced on Monday afternoon that Hazard, 26, had undergone “successful” surgery and is likely to return to training in around three months.
Hazard sustained the injury during a training session while on international duty with Belgium.
The news he is unlikely to be able to train until September is a blow for the Blues as he was a key player in their title-winning campaign.
He scored 16 Premier League goals last season and has netted 57 in total since his arrival from Lille in 2012.
