Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Ashley Cole will be disciplined by the club for his Twitter outburst.
Cole vented his anger at the Football Association after they published a report detailing why John Terry was banned for the racial abuse of Anton Ferdinand and in it criticised the evidence Cole gave.
“We have a social media policy here at Chelsea and there is going to be disciplinary action against the tweet,” Di Matteo said after the Blues’ 4-1 win over Norwich.
“We have rules here and if a player breaches the rules they have to face the consequences.”
Di Matteo added: “I did speak to Ashley in a private conversation and we spoke about the tweet.
“I do not have a problem with players using social media as long as it is used correctly and responsibly.”
