Chelsea’s Torres passed fit for Basel clash
Fernando Torres has travelled with the Chelsea squad to face Basel in Tuesday’s Champions League clash after being passed fit following a thigh problem.
The signs were promising for the Blues when the striker was able to train with his team-mates on Monday morning.
He picked up the injury in training prior to the recent international break and failed to recover in time for Saturday’s 3-0 win at West Ham.
But Torres has been given the green light to make the trip to Switzerland, although David Luiz is unavailable as the defender is still recovering from a knee problem.
Torres scored three goals in as many matches before suffering the injury.
