Injured Rudiger to miss rest of season
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, it has been confirmed.
The club announced on Tuesday evening that Rudiger, 26, had undergone “successful” surgery on his left knee meniscus.
Rudiger limped off during the second half of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Germany international, signed for £29m from Roma in July 2017, has made 44 appearances for the Blues this season.
His absence is likely to lead to Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri selecting Andreas Christensen for the remaining matches of the campaign.
