Chelsea’s Kalas to join Cologne on loan

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas is to join German club FC Cologne on a season-long loan.

The Czech defender, 21, made his first-team debut for the Blues last term, against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup, and featured in the Champions League against Galatasary.

He was hugely impressive on his full debut in the Premier League, performing excellently at the back as Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield in April.

Kalas previously spent two seasons on loan with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem.
