Highly-rated Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford is to spend the rest of the season on loan at Derby County, it has been confirmed.
The 20-year-old striker will link up with the Rams on Monday, after the two clubs meet in the FA Cup third round.
Bamford has been prolific in League One, scoring 16 goals in 29 appearances during his third loan spell at MK Dons, and will now test himself against Championship defences.
His impressive form in the third tier earned him a call-up to the England Under-21 squad, making his debut as a substitute in a 9-0 win against San Marino in November.
Bamford played under Derby boss Steve McClaren during the former England manager’s short-lived spell in charge of Nottingham Forest in 2011.
Shortly after McClaren quit the City Ground, Bamford was sold to Chelsea, where he has made two senior appearances.
