Chelsea youngsters beat West Ham to maintain perfect away record

Charlie Brown scored a second-half winner for Chelsea’s development side as they beat West Ham 2-1 to make it four victories from four away games and move joint top of the table.

They took an early lead courtesy of Billy Gilmour’s penalty following a foul by Reece Oxford on Brown.

West Ham quickly hit back with a penalty of their own, scored by Joe Powell, but were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Tunji Akinola was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.

And Chelsea took advantage, with Brown firing home to give them a deserved win.

Earlier on Saturday, Chelsea’s Under-18 side enjoyed a 2-1 win at home to Aston Villa.

George Nunn opened the scoring midway through the first half and Armando Broja doubled Blues’ lead early in the second. Dimitri Sea pulled a goal back for Villa.
