Chelsea Under-18s’ three-year record ended by Spurs
Chelsea’s Under-18 side have been beaten at the club’s Cobham training ground for the first time in three years.
They lost 3-0 to Tottenham on Wednesday afternoon, ending an unbeaten run which stretched back to April 2015.
Jody Morris’ side, already crowned league champions for a fourth season running, had won 15 matches in a row in all competitions and had conceded just two goals in their previous 11 games.
Schoolboys James Clark and Henry Lawrence made their youth-team debuts as six changes were made from the side that won at West Ham to secure the Under-18 Premier League southern title – largely because of the Uefa Youth League semi-final against Porto to play on Friday.
Reo Griffiths gave the visitors a first-half lead and prolific striker Martell Taylor-Crossdale missed a chance to equalise early in the second half when his penalty was saved.
Rodel Richards and Dilan Markanday then scored to seal Spurs’ win.
