Chelsea youngsters suffer cup defeat

Chelsea’s youngsters suffered a 3-0 defeat against Manchester United in the Under-18 Premier League Cup on Saturday.

Goals from D’Mani Mellor, Di’Shon Bernard and Brandon Williams sealed a comfortable win for the home side.

It meant a third win from three group games for United and left the cup holders on the verge of going out of the tournament.

Chelsea now need results elsewhere to go their way in order to go through as one of the best runners-up.

The game took place the morning after Chelsea’s development side pulled off an incredible comeback to beat West Ham 3-2 at Aldershot.
