Chelsea youngsters six points clear at top after beating Fulham
Charlie Brown’s goal gave Chelsea’s Under-18s a 1-0 win at Fulham and restored their six-point lead at the top of the table.
Brown fired into the roof of the net after being teed up by Marcel Lavinier’s header midway through the second half – his 14th goal of the season.
It came just after Brown went close to scoring following good work by Jon Russell, and Chelsea’s Faustino Anjorin had a goal disallowed for offside.
Chelsea had to withstand spells of pressure in a tight game at Fulham’s Motspur Park training ground.
Ryan De Havilland went close to scoring for the hosts early on.
And after Brown broke the deadlock, keeper Jason Cumming prevented an equaliser by producing a save to deny Harvey Elliot.
