Chelsea’s development side reached the semi-finals of the Checkatrade Trophy by beating Oxford United 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Early goals from Harvey St Clair and Daishawn Redan put the hosts in control and Juan Castillo’s superb strike in the second half sealed a resounding quarter-final win.
Ethan Ampadu (pictured) featured for Chelsea, who went ahead when St Clair was on hand to score after Redan’s shot had been saved by keeper Simon Eastwood.
Callum Hudson-Odoi was involved in the build up to that goal and then set up Redan, who fired home the second.
And Castillo netted with a right-footed strike after drifting in from the left flank.
