Chelsea’s Kane suffers knee injury

Todd Kane has suffered a serious knee injury and faces a long spell on the sidelines, according to NEC.

The 22-year-old right-back, who has impressed while on loan at the Dutch club from Chelsea, was stretchered off during their recent game against PEC Zwolle.

NEC say Kane has suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage and that his loan spell has therefore ended.

Kane, who has not played a first-team match for Chelsea, has previously been on loan at Preston, Blackburn, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest.
