Chelsea youngster Mason Mount has joined Frank Lampard’s Derby on loan.
Blues legend Lampard, who recently took over as Derby boss, has snapped up the 19-year-old midfielder on a season-long deal.
Mount impressed last season on loan at Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem and is now set to play in the Championship.
He is well known to Jody Morris, who worked with him at Chelsea.
Hammersmith-born former Blues midfielder Morris left his role as Chelsea’s Under-18s boss to become Lampard’s assistant at Derby.
“Being at Chelsea and playing in midfield, I’ve looked up to Frank Lampard throughout my life and career,” Mount told Derby’s website.
“He’s been a big role model for me and I’ve worked with Jody before, he was a great player so I have a great relationship with them both and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
