Chelsea youngster joins Shrews on loan

Chelsea youngster Charlie Colkett has joined League One club Shrewsbury Town on loan.

The midfielder, 21, is a product of Chelsea’s academy and has previous League One experience, having had spells on loan at Bristol Rovers and Swindon.

He has also spent time in the Netherlands on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, who have a partnership agreement with Chelsea.

Colkett’s latest loan move was completed on Saturday but he was not included in Shrewsbury’s squad for a pre-season friendly against Brentford.
