Chelsea youngster ‘a very good talent’ – Terriers boss
Huddersfield boss David Wagner believes Kasey Palmer is starting to show his true potential.
The 19-year-old Chelsea midfielder had not completed 90 minutes for his loan club before last weekend, but has since played the whole of the Terriers’ 1-0 win over Derby and was their brightest spark in an otherwise dismal 5-0 defeat at Fulham.
Wagner admitted Palmer had needed bringing up to speed, alternating him with fellow summer signing Jack Payne in the number 10 role, but feels he has great promise.
“I think he needed some time,” Wagner said.
“He needed the pre-season and he needed the first few games, but he is a very good talent.
“He has a lot of skill. We are very happy that we have him in our squad.”
Wagner admitted individual mistakes were to blame for the hammering at Craven Cottage.
“We conceded two early goals after set pieces. We were very sloppy when we had the ball,” he said.
“We made so many easy mistakes that I can leave this game behind us
“At the end we totally under performed, Fulham were stronger in every single position.”
