Chelsea beat Barcelona in friendly in Japan
Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley scored as Chelsea beat Barcelona 2-1 in a pre-season friendly in Japan.
Abraham scored 10 minutes before half-time at the Saitama Stadium – shortly after he was guilty of a terrible miss.
He contrived to shoot over from close range after Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen had parried Christian Pulisic’s shot.
But when the striker was then teed up by Jorginho, he showed great composure to dodge Ter Stegan and slot home.
Barkley netted with nine minutes remaining after being set up by Marcos Alonso.
Ivan Rakitić pulled a goal back for Barca with a cracking strike.
Chelsea: Kepa, Azpilicueta (Zappacosta 69), Christensen, Luiz (Zouma 45), Emerson (Alonso 45), Jorginho (Drinkwater 69), Pedro (batshuayi 69), Kovacic (Bakayoko 69), Mount (Barkley 60), Pulisic (Kenedy 60), Abraham (Giroud 60).
