Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is a major doubt for the Europa League final after suffering a knee injury in training.
Kante, who missed the final two matches of the domestic season, recently returned to training after a hamstring problem and was expected to play in Wednesday’s game against Arsenal in Baku.
However, he now looks likely to miss out, having since picked up a new injury.
Kante is being assessed by Chelsea’s medical staff but on Tuesday morning the chances of him being available against the Gunners were fading.
The injury is a massive blow for the Blues, whose midfield options would be limited without the Frenchman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has been sidelined by an Achilles tendon rupture.
Chelsea are also without defender Antonio Rudiger, who has a knee problem as well, and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who, like Loftus-Cheek, has an Achilles tendon injury.
