Chelsea star Willian ‘has improved month after month’

Gary Cahill has hailed Willian ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League showdown with Paris St-Germain.

The Brazilian has been outstanding this season and could be a key player in tonight’s round-of-16 second leg at Stamford Bridge.

“Willian from the time I have played with him has improved month after month and season after season,” Blues defender Cahill declared.

“He has been one of our standout performers this season and he is very exciting for the fans to watch.

“I am sure PSG will not relish playing against him. He is a very special player on his day and he can have an impact.”

Chelsea, who trail 2-1 from the first leg, face missing out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

And Cahill admitted that his side, who play Everton in the FA Cup on Saturday, therefore know they are under added pressure in the next few days.

He said: “It’s a big week for us, with two huge games. Everyone knows the league situation. We are all motivated and know how important the game is for everyone.”
