Antonio Rudiger has been passed fit for Chelsea’s trip to face Manchester United but the Blues are unsure whether N’Golo Kante will be available for Sunday’s game.
Rudiger has recovered from a knee problem, while Kante will be assessed ahead of the match at Old Trafford.
Kante was substituted during the recent draw at home to Burnley after taking a knock to the ribs.
Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri said: “Rudiger is OK at the moment. We are trying to recover Kante but I am not sure at the moment.”
This weekend’s game is crucial for both clubs in the battle to finish in the top four.
Chelsea are currently fourth and a win would leave them six points clear of sixth-placed United – with a significantly better goal difference – with just two Premier League matches of the season remaining.
“The match is very important, probably more than important, for our target,” said Sarri.
“We will try to win of course, but we need not to lose. It’s a very difficult match for both teams.”
