John Terry will miss Chelsea’s trip to West Brom on Tuesday but Fernando Torres has been passed fit to return.
Blues skipper Terry sat out Saturday’s win against Newcastle with muscle problem manager Jose Mourinho was quick to play down.
He will not be considered for this week’s game but is expected to be available for Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Manchester City.
Mourinho confirmed: “John is still out. I expect him to play next weekend. Fernando is available.”
The 3-0 victory against the Magpies was the first Premier League match Terry has missed this season.
Striker Torres has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury soon after coming on as a substitute during the recent win against Manchester United.
