Chelsea captain John Terry has been passed fit for Saturday’s game against Leicester City.

Terry, 35, has not played since suffering an ankle injury during the 2-2 draw at Swansea on 11 September.

But he returned to full training this week and is available to face the Premier League champions.

The news is a boost for Chelsea, who have looked vulnerable at the back for much of his time on the sidelines.

Boss Antonio Conte was reluctant to confirm that Terry will start this weekend but the Italian indicated that he intends to continue with three central defenders.

“Yes, he is available. He came back in training in the middle of the week and he’s recovered from his injury,” said Conte.

“I prefer not to give away the line-up. I will have to make the best decision for the team.

“Tomorrow I have four central defenders and I have to decide on three. I have to evaluate the situation.”

Conte confirmed that Willian is unavailable following the death of his mother.
